Since the release of Mass Effect™: Andromeda, we’ve worked hard to address feedback from our community. From improving animations to expanding customization options, we looked to respond to your concerns, and build on what you loved.

With each patch, you let us know we were heading in the right direction, and we're grateful to everyone who joined us on this journey. We're proud of what we created, and we hope you enjoyed it as well.

Early in development, we decided to focus Mass Effect: Andromeda’s story on the Pathfinder, the exploration of the Andromeda galaxy, and the conflict with the Archon. The game was designed to further expand on the Pathfinder’s journey through this new galaxy with story-based APEX multiplayer missions and we will continue to tell stories in the Andromeda Galaxy through our upcoming comics and novels, including the fate of the quarian ark.

Our last update, 1.10, was the final update for Mass Effect: Andromeda. There are no planned future patches for single-player or in-game story content.

In the coming weeks, our multiplayer team will provide details of their ongoing support and upcoming content, including new multiplayer missions, character kits, and what’s in store for N7 Day.

We appreciate all the millions of people who came with us to the Andromeda galaxy. We hope to see you again in the Mass Effect universe.

But hey, they may not have fixed all the awful animation, low quality models and still boundless glitches...

But at least they fixed the transgender NPC's dialogue and made Jaal gay!

For the 20 or $30 you can find it for now, definitely. The combat is great, and multiplayer is fun. Everything else is a mixed bag and depends on how anal you are, and how much you compare it to the first trilogy.

As someone who came into the series with Andromeda, it feels worth the $60 for me. Exploring the different environments is actually fun, again the combat is some of the best I've seen in a shooter, and they can be cheesy but I like the characters.

It didn't really flop. 7/10 in reviews isn't the best, but far from bad. And it's one of the top 5 or 6 best selling games of this entire year which means it sold 4 million at the very least which isn't bad either.

At this particular point in time I honestly think shutting the whole thing down is more respectful than making sequels to Andromeda and allowing that to be Mass Effect's legacy (until they decide to reboot it in 10 years)

Not surprised tbh. If they'd released any SP DLC, people would complain about why they're releasing anything when the base game isn't up to par and it would do more harm than good. Glad they're still supporting multiplayer at least, it's still pretty great.

They never built Andromeda with a single player focus in mind. They basically took the gameplay framework from the MP game in ME3, refined it a lot, and built a game around it for Andromeda. I fully expected them to drop single player support well before MP.

Well obviously, if you buy the game you've bought it. If you play the multiplayer there's still room for the random loot crate progression falls so poorly for you that you'll get pissed off enough to spend real money on premium currency... to buy more lootboxes.

I'm talking about Andromeda itself. I don't think it was as bad as everyone said and I actually enjoyed it, but it's just shameful how that game was made. Made by the worst Bioware had to offer, poor promotion, no E3 presence, pushed out the door in an especially unfinished state. And then they dropped the franchise like a bad habit almost immediately. Why did they even bother in the first place?

I'm not surprised, but I can't say I'm not sad that this has happened. I actually did enjoy the gameplay, I love the worlds and the exploration. But despite all that, I just could not get into the characters (Drack's the only one I really liked) not even my own and that was ABSOLUTELY crucial in a game like this for me. And thus I could not finish it. Oh well :l

Not meeting expectations =/= flop

Plus based on what was leaked and said in interviews, sounds as if they gave the game to a new team with not enough resources and rushed the game out before it was done to move on to other projects (probably Anthem). So they probably settled on no dlc to begin with.

Nothing shy of being the best game of the year by a large margin probably wouldn't have changed their direction.
So they're basically doing what the GTA team does.

The "SJW" problems were a minor issue with the game. The biggest problem was too much bloat such as pointless side quests. Also, the lack of priority on some things such as Asari literally only having two faces throughout the whole game.
We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!
The main problems were the concept, the execution, the story, the characters, the rehash of ideas and even JOKES from the original trilogy, the thousands of glitches, the awful UI, the timesink crafting system, the awful looking models, the s***ty animations.

Not a big deal!

    Yes but
Bioware gave employees statues of Shepard if they worked there 10 years and it's female only.

In interviews the manager of Bioware referred to Shepard exclusively as "she"

I've seen vids online and 80% are female.

I feel you make a charavter in Andromeda it asks if Shepard was male or female but if you don't answer it'll default to female. (Unless you press QuickStart. Customization defaults to female QuickStart defaults to male since nobody uses QuickStart)

For the last time (not really) this is stupid. Of course EA had a hand in it. Bioware didn't release the game in a broken state and charge 60 dollars for it.

Assumedly Bioware also didn't make the choice to focus so hugely on a freemium-economy based multiplayer mode to pull in them microtransaction money instead of improving on and optimizing the singleplayer.

    Basically.

The whole development of the game was a disaster - it changed repeatedly, leaving them with making what they did in a year as they did new/different things. They really needed better oversight/structure and to not have it dumped on a studio ill equipped to handle a game like ME.

    3) Kill the series

    Bioware you guys are geniuses

EA gave Bioware a new studio and gave them a chance to work on this game. They had like 4 years to work on it and it didn't work out. There was nothing rushed about it.

It was 5 years; and it is definitely rushed (literally all of the asari have the same face c'mon), there's plenty of info out there detailing how they couldn't decide on a story and gameplay far into the development process and forced to rush the last year and half of development

It's rushed in the sense that they had to make up for a wasted three years of development but that doesn't change that they had plenty of time to make the game.

It also doesnt change that the game was releashed in an unfinished state, making the release rushed.

Same with FFXV even though it had 10 years (not really, but whatever) of development.

And again, if you are going to release a broken game, charging 60 dollars for it is just unacceptable.

If you have plenty of time but don't do s*** for the majority of that time, you're rushing.
The most relaxing version of Aquatic Ambiance I've ever heard:

Yes, but it shifts the blame to the developer instead of the publisher.

They did a lot but had to scrap almost all of it. The game had development issues the whole way through.
