- Why is Capcom the only game company that gets shit on for DLC?
Is there a special way they are doing it that is some how so different from other companies that is triggering you? Nintendo literally has you buy physical toys for DLC and people still buy it, HAPPILY.

The difference there is that the physical DLC has the added bonus of being a collectable item you can put on your shelf. You can't put capcom DLC on your shelf.

This topic is a damn hyperbole. Bethesda got lots of shit for its Oblivion DLC (horse armor, lulz) and now even moreso for its Creator's Club which is nothing more than overpriced fan-made DLC, EA and Bioware gets lots of shit for its DLC practices (although they managed to avoid it with ME:A when it was given no DLC thanks to it flopping right out the gate).
Capcom is just the most recent offender of frivolous and/or unethical DLC.

although they managed to avoid it with ME:A when it was given no DLC thanks to it flopping right out the gate There was still backlash over the no dlc, because it meant we'll never get the hinted Quarian Arc dlc. Which also made the addition of certain multiplayer characters weird due to lack of context. |
Plenty of companies get shit on for it. Capcom is far from the only one.
Just because people are notoriously more aware about it from Capcom than the others doesn't mean the others get free pass. Capcom was one of the first to be exposed for their practices. They've never stopped doing it. I would say it is a well deserved reputation. Just like it is for the others. WB has been getting bad as well. They've come a long way as a scumming publisher since 2011.

I want all these companies equally bashed They are. The only reason you (falsely) perceive Capcom as getting bashed more for it is because you're an unapologetic fanboy. You jump to their defense every time, so naturally you'll be exposed to more of it. EA gets more hate for DLC than Capcom. You can defend a company you like and not defend every decision they make. I think I got well more content than I paid for with my Link amiibo, but I still think Nintendo's deliberate underproduction of amiibo and classic consoles is awful.

You see I only defend Capcom this hard BECAUSE of the blind haters we have here on CE. Not the other way around.

There are some Capcom haters, but not more so than there are for other companies. Capcom has a recent poorly received game, so they're the focus right now. When EA makes a bad game, you'll see just as much hate.

You can honestly look at the new Marvel vs. Capcom and the new Street Fighter and still claim it's unfair? I agree with Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, but Street Fighter V has actually been a very consumer friendly approach to DLC, at least in terms of important content (i.e. characters). Every single character to date (as well as most of the new stages) can be bought with Fight Money, which you can earn for free while playing the game. And the Arcade Edition content is going to be free to owners of vanilla SFV as well, with more opportunities to earn additional Fight Money and a bunch of other new content.

Nintendo's toys cost approximately the same as funko pops except have much higher quality sculpting (compared to a pop) and can be used with games. |

Plus amiibo can be used in multiple games, so essentially you're buying DLC for multiple games at a time + future games that support it. That said, I don't buy amiibo for that. I have other methods. I don't get figures that I don't want.

Modern Capcom deserves a lot of hate but I agree that people shouldn't act like they are the only company doing crap like this or even the first. DLC even season passes don't bother me too much since I stick to special additions that include all that anyway. I'm more pissed off with Nintendo's Amiibo locked content to be honest.

They were the first ones to noticeably pull scummy moves like disc locked content and never stopped. What does it matter if dlc is locked in disc? Dlc is dlc. In this case you just unlock it instead of downloading. Unless its ridiculous amount of wasted space i don't see how that's worse than downloading.
Can't think any good sig

I mean, I generally don't buy DLC but I'll agree that amiibos are kinda dumb. I own an 8 bit Link one and a Shovel Knight one and I really just got them because I thought they looked cool. I'll buy stuff like Fallout's DLC because it adds a ton of awesome extra content, and I think stuff like Smash 4 and Mario Kart 8 (probably the best DLC I've seen for the amount of content vs the price) was tasteful done on the Nintendo side.

Fallout 4 (especially if you got the Season Pass for $30) initially had tremendous DLC, and Skyrim's was really good too. But they got so much flack for the horse armor, and everyone pretty much agrees that Creator Club is awful and they've been catching a lot of heat for it. If people stop supporting this stuff, it'll stop happening. Obviously though, a lot of people are buying loot boxes, are buying different color schemes for characters in fighting games, etc.

Part of why you perceive this is because Capcom is a company that makes games weebs want, while the others are not. If you spend your time in a place with a higher population of weebs, those are the complaints you're going to see. Why would weebs complain about DLC practices of games they have no interest in?
