if you trade with someone you just met, and 40,000 stardust if you max a friendship meter with someone by doing gymbattles and such. No clue how long that would take though.

Best Friends may only have to spend 40,000 of the item while those who have just met may have to spend a million.

The 1 million base cost is only for "special trades" (IE legendary Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, and Pokemon you don't have in your Pokedex yet) and the cost goes down drasticallyonce you increase your friendship level with the friend you're trading with. It's specifically to add trading to the game without a "black market" developing that lets people freely sell Pokemon for real money to random people willing to pay.

Sounds fine to me. Only see myself trading to fill out the dex or give a friend some poke they need. Looking forward more to the friends list and gifts.
