Samus’s bust is actually probably about the same size, it’s just more realistically compressed rather than her looking like an inflatable sex doll. She’s very well-endowed.

The problem was never about the fairness, it was about the narrative. By changing to a group that the mods would concede with based on their own experiences, suddenly it's fair. To me, I have every reason to not label these people as SJWs, but as something else, as I know many people who are of that group who say the exact same shit. |

Samus's boobs look ridiculous in the Wii U game. It was improved in the Ultimate game.
Snake's butt just looks ridiculous now. His legs are big and then there's just nothing above. But try to spin it into something about SJWs, sure.

Anyway Polygon are confirmed hypocrites for this. If you take away sexy female features it's only fair to take away sexy male features too. There is no rational counterargument to that.

As I understand it, it's a complaint that the camera in media assumes the gaze of a male audience. So, you get scenes that lingers on or pans over women in a way it doesn't typically do for men. For example, the bouncing boobs in anime or in a movie when the camera slowly pans over a sexy women's body. It is a thing that happens, but I don't buy that it's a problem. In addition, there was nothing wrong with Samus' breasts in SSB4. They were fine. As a man married to a woman with an ample bosom, it does irk me when critics complain about big breasts being ridiculous. |

But Smash is a game with no cutscenes. So there is no male gaze. Their complaint is irrelevant here.

If a woman viewer is uncomfortable with the way a scene is handled, it's probably not for her. But I would also admit that I don't believe most women viewers have a problem with it, if they even notice it without it being pointed out to them. |
