Check Kijiji. Depending on your area, you might be able to find a good deal. I'm in Toronto, and after two weeks of calling multiple EB Games and other local game stores, I said 'screw it' and posted a 'wanted' ad. Ended up snagging a brand-new Switch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the receipt for about eighty bucks less than what I would have paid in-store with taxes. Of course there are some scalpers that are selling the console only for $550 and up, but there are also some people that impulse-bought one and now just want to break even.
The Hero's triumph on Cataclysm's Eve wins three symbols of virtue. The Master Sword he will then retrieve, keeping the Knight's line true.

I didn't preorder so it took me a while to find one, just call every store in your area untill someone can hold one for you, call every day ( preferably in the morning) like i did and i am sure that you will find one. |

In canada, scalpers are only selling it for like $20 over retail, and most of them will give it up for retail because they can't sell it. I bought mine on Kijiji with 2 games for $450 ($2 below retail), after lowballing scalpers offering exactly the retail amount, every single one said yes.

I've called up several stores and asked when they get shipments, gone and checked and they never have them. I look around whenever I'm at Walmart or wherever and they never have any. I've still never seen a single Switch on a shelf
It's entirely dependent on your area. I know for sure we have plenty of scalpers here for other kinds of products but I've never personally seen it for game consoles |

I recommend checking out the subreddit r/NintendoSwitchDeals as they do an amazing job on keeping people up to date on when stores have them. I got mine through subbing amd checking every couple of hours or so for about a 5-ish days.

I saw one switch at the Vero Beach Target the other day. They even got a few Wolf Link Amiibos in stock the other day. I was kinda dumb founded.

It was tough to find but not that tough. Got mine at target. Checked 1 target, 1 gamestop, 2 Walmarts, and 1 bestbuy over the course of a few days around where I live and work. Then went to a second target the next weekend and they had two available. All together I only spent probably 2 hours actively hunting one down.
One of the benefits of living in a bigger city is there are a ton of stores that sell electronics. Edit: I could of bought it at GS (second place I looked) via through-store online but it was a bundle and I had 100+ dollars of BB credit that I wanted to use to buy games, a case, and botw dlc. Didn't want to waste extra money when I could get the stuff in the bundle for free.

How about talking to a retailer to see when they will get more in stock and if you can preorder one from them? I can think of a dozen ways to deal with your problem. However, none of those solutions include jumping a message board.

I got mine last month at Best Buy. They had four. Before that, I saw one in Walmart twice, and Target had 8 one day. Since I got mine, though, I haven't seen a one.

You just need to keep checking in with your local game store. Find out when they get their shipments in (for example, my EB Games gets their shipments Tuesday morning usually), and call them around that time. I found one about a month after launch by just checking constantly.

Ended up selling it for $460, which was the same price I paid with taxes and shipping, and what my brother was supposed to be paying me for it. I sold it in person btw, not through Amazon or eBay (those bastards take some of the cash for themselves)
Not everyone out there is a scalper, so just keep checking local listings. There are also groups on FB that will list them for a fair price
I do agree that it is hard to find in stores, so you just gotta expand your search. You'd be surprised how many people don't look locally, so even if the listing is a couple days old, chances are they may still have it. @maounkhanlegoi got lucky and scored one on amazon when they were in stock. i told myself i wasn't going to stand in line, or pay anything over retail, so i waited a while...my best buy... my walmart... my target... my toys r us as of yasterday they all had 5~8 in locked game shelfs

If you're lucky, you can get it there. They do have an entire section dedicated to electronics. I am in Alberta.
