- AMD need to get their GPU temps & TDP down already
For awhile now their cards have been hotter & need higher voltage PSUs than Nvidia's cards. So if they can fix this then they would be a lot better.

If AMD wouldn't have bought ATI then maybe the ATI cards wouldn't run really hot & draw so much power like how their cards were in the past.

ATI probably would still be more competitive with Nvidia and might even beat Nvid's cards for cheaper prices like they did a few times before.

@Tropicalwood I'm talking about in video games, not something that's unnecessarily jacking the prices up on GPUs.

And Intel just introduced Core i9, which they were probably already working on, so the balance of power swings back. Equivalent Ryzen chips seem to be much less expensive and also run cooler and take less power. And with AMD's history, they'd leave Ryzen out there to get thrown into Obsolesce by Intel's regular updates like they did their last gen chips. Zen 2 and 3 have been in the works for quite a while. It appears that Intel is going to lose its manufacturing lead and AMD will be able to take advantage of that for Zen 2 next year and Zen 3 in 2019. I believe I read a while ago that they're targeting a 15% performance increase with both.

Isn't the 480 already outperforming Nvidia in crypto-mining? I don't give a damn about what people use for making fake currency.

I go off to play video games, and come back to TC having a meltdown over being ignored. When you've been ignored as long as i have you would be angry too.

PonyLivesMatter posted...Lonestar2000 posted...AMD is garbage. And AMD launched threadripper which gives way more PCIe lanes and comparable performance for far less. AMD never acted like they were going to be the absolute best on the market, they're intentionally matching, or beating them but for a fraction of the cost. AMD already has their Ryzen 2 and Ryzen 3 roadmap laid out, neither the FX line never competed with the i series even at launch the way that Ryzen does now, at it's very best it was close to i5 performance, and then they didn't really upgrade it at all for like 6 years. Intel just got lazy and did marginal gains, kept 4 cores the norm, and didn't even try to create any kind of progress. s*** they got so lazy that even tick tock got too hard for them to keep up. At one point like a decade ago Intel's roadmap had them set to be phasing out silicon chips by now and moving onto an entirely new method of making chips. And not to mention them getting fined for breaking anti competition laws. Ryzen was and is great and has completely shook up the CPU market, and if they can follow up with the planned roadmap it'll continue to be stellar forcing Intel to actually try for the first time in years.

Mhm. I'd call that a good thing. Competition in a market prevents stagnation. Gamer99z posted... This is one of the weirdest most random meltdowns I've seen in awhile. I seriously wondered if TC is bipolar or something when I first saw it.

You're phrasing your response as though that wasn't my entire point. Crazyman93 posted... I seriously wondered if TC is bipolar or something when I first saw it. Yeah it's really weird. I'm not sure if he's just joking or legit.
