How about a couple of game collections? FF 1-6 and 7-9 would be grand. I don't know if Square can do that with the PS1 games but it would be great if they could.

Given that Final Fantasy 15 isn't coming to the Switch due to technical restraints and Final Fantasy 7 Remake is based off the same engine, I highly doubt the remake will come to the Switch. FFXV was built on SE's in-house engine Luminous, which SE is basically abandoning in favor for UE4. FFVIIR is built on UE4, which Switch already supports.

FF7 is one example, a game that I wouldn't continue to play because of poor graphics and s***ty controls. OoT is another.

That doesn't seem to stop DQXI, which happens to run on UE4 too.
Just because two different games run on the same engine doesn't mean they require the same horsepower to run.
Yet DQXI only hits 900p @ 30fps on PS4. If you're suggesting that FFVIIR is going to require more, then is that an assumption that it will only hit something like 720p @ 30fps on PS4?"When you've got no argument, say something bad about <x>."

There are aspects to the game aside from resolution. RAM usage, CPU usage, all can play into the potential for a game running on certain hardware, and how much it needs to be downgraded to run on lesser hardware. Halo 4 most assuredly required more resources than Halo 3, yet it also ran at a higher resolution (and often framerate) on the same hardware. I don't see what that has to do with the Switch. The studio making Dragon Quest games is obviously not the studio making Final Fantasy games, so how does that relate to the possibility of downgrading an in-development game for lesser hardware? It's not like Final Fantasy XV, ANY of the Kingdom Hearts games or their remasters, or Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Age were released on Switch, after all.
Especially when the Final Fantasy 7 remake hasn't even been announced for the Xbox One yet, so assuming anything about their intentions with the game (particularly regarding a system like the Swtich) seems like a pretty big stretch.

Absolutely. Just because the Switch can run UE4 it doesn't mean it can run all games using UE4. DQXI on PS4 is in no way a technically impressive title. Unless Square-Enix is trying to make Switch consoles explode worldwide, FF7R isn't coming. It's a garbage remake that doesn't respect the original anyway, so it doesn't matter.Read the mania: http://www.fanfiction.net/~nonexistinghero
In SA2, it's Super Sonic and Hyper Shadow. It's coming to Playstation first. Whether that means it will get a PC or Xbox port later is a different story.
Besides it isn't even guaranteed to be coming to the PS4. The game will be broken into parts presumably 3 since Kitase/Nomura stated it will be full games in the same sense as the FFXIII trilogy. Part 1 isn't coming out no earlier than 2019 and that's being optimistic. The PS5 will probably be launching roughly late 2019. Part 2 and Part 3 will definitely be long after the PS5 got release. So it's highly plausible they might just dump the PS4 in favor of the PS5 just like what they did with Versus/XV when it went from the PS3 to the PS4. Even if part 1 is releasing only on the PS4 at first it will be coming to the PS5 within a few months to a year.
Either way they would have to do a massive downgrade of an AAA PS4 and/or possibly PS5 game like FFVII-R. FFX/X-2 HD, Type 0 HD, FFXII TZA, FFXIII trilogy, and even FFXIV are more likely to be ported than FFVII-R (and parts) and even FFXV."Your arms are too short to box with God!"gafemaqs posted...This topic is about when or if it is coming to Nintendo's console

FF6 is much better for example. It really boils down to whatever "timed exclusivity" means for PS4, and whether or not the developer has any interest in porting it over to the Switch after the fact.
Heck, we may be on Switch 2 before this game releases, so bickering back and forth about it will it / won't it is just pointless. It doesn't matter what we think, it matters what the developers think.I don't care if it comes out on Switch or not because there's no way I'm going to buy a Switch version over a PS4 one. The reason why is simple: the PS4 Pro will play the game at a much higher resolution and frame rate.
