I LOVE Mario and Luigi, and in particular this game. But the people who are invested in this series already played it. And let's face it, 40 bucks really is a big ask for how little this port adds. Especially when the game is on sale for 8 bucks on the Wii U VC, and considering how horrible and mindless the new game mode is.
With how many great games are coming out in October, people might be budgeting to afford bigger and better entries.

I've played Superstar Saga multiple times over 10 years ago and have fond memories of it. Just not interested in this re-release for now (maybe later if I can get it for cheap). I just bought Metroid:SR and Fire Emblem Echoes last month, and currently waiting for Alliance Alive. |

Most people who want M&L already had it, either on GBA or Wii U, before BM came out. It's not like Return of Samus that had a HUGE upgrade. You can't really imply that poor sales of a minor remake represent the 3ds system as a whole

M&L is definitely better than Super, Sticker Star, and Color Splash. Only the Paper Mario RPGs are the good Paper Mario games, and are the game people consider when talking about it as a series. If you do, you can just say-
It's Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire with updated graphics, but only 386 Pokemon, no new areas, no story changes, and gen 3 mechanics, which include-
No physical special split
No gen IV+ items, abilities, moves
And it will have a new strategy mini-game!

Why didn't I buy this game despite loving SSS and BIS a lot, and enjoyed the other 3?
Simple - I don't feel it needs a remake, and what the remake added isn't good enough - so I didn't buy it, and I can just replay SSS if I want to (personally I don't, I played Dream Team and Paper Jam recently)
Why didn't I buy Lady Layton despite liking most of the Layton series? simple, because I feel like they were getting worse, the game had zero hype in the Internet, mobile release killed it, reviews weren't kind etc

Which I am really sad about, superstar saga is my favourite Mario rpg so if they stuck with the older sprites(the old game was pretty close to perfect) the thing is even if you don't like sprites and prefer 3D models the game still looks bad in comparison, which again makes me rather sad as I would have loved an excuse to play superstar saga on 3DS. I feel like after superstar saga GBA the rpg series had a decline in quality, IMO Partners in time was terrible, heard bowsers inside joke and Luigi dream team weren't bad though.Top 5 games of 2014: 1. Every way? The remake improves on multiple things. Also, it still uses sprites, so I don’t get that complaint.

I honestly disagree. I thought the original sprites looked great and had aged very well, but looking at the original after playing the remake, it doesn’t look as good as I remembered. That would be great. Back in 2013 I thought they were being released too far apart, now it's a bit oversaturated.
They are talented developers for sure, it's just they are running out of ideas and it shows here. They should either try another franchise or make something entirely new.- Boards
