Will You Stick To PS4 Or Consider Switching To PC?

  3. Will You Stick To PS4 Or Consider Switching To PC?
I am a PC and PS4 gamer so I speak for both camps.

I understand some people can only have one because of various reasons such as space, time, budget etc, so I ask will they be considering moving from PS4 to PC?

If I had a PS4 only I wouldn't consider moving to PC at all because of a few reasons.

I built my PC to play games, but it doesn't play a lot of games. It's not fair, because every recent game, too many to list, has been a bad broken unplayable port. I don't understand the concept of paying for a broken game, it's not fair. So recently the only game I touch on PC is GTA 5, but let's not forget even that game came out years after the console versions.

Even Forza was a bad port, how could they screw that up it's a windows platform based game? Terrible.

And as a community the PC gaming community is pretty dead, on new games there are like no players online but PS4 I find lots of people online.

Your thoughts, are you considering switching to PC or staying with PS4?

I already have a PS4 with over 30 games in my backlog (well, my steam backlog is 400+), so I'm not abandoning ship any time soon. Not PS4 nor PC.

I also have both. I'd never ditch my ps4 for PC if I had to pick one. I got a mid range PC almost 2 years ago with plans to upgrade. I never bothered because I found myself playing all the multiplats on ps4. The only thing I play on PC are Civ and a text-based baseball simulator.

I like the community better, the simplicity and standardization of consoles, and pretty much just everything about ps4 except for the fact that it doesn't have Civ.

Why would anyone switch from PS4 to PC at this juncture? This is arguably the best year for PS4 exclusives yet.

The only way I would Switch to PC is if PlayStation went all digital. It hasn't, so...

I'll stick with PSN. No point in switching now as I'm already well invested. Unless something drastically changes with PS5, I don't see myself changing.
Damn, you are adorable. Did you pick that gun because it looks cool? You totally did, right? I ain't gonna lie. You scare the s*** out of me.

same, no interest in pc gaming whatsoever
I switched to PC around 2012.

Best decision of my gaming life.
I built a top of the line PC.

And about 2-3 years later, I got a PS4 Pro for the games that I can't get on PC.

You do realize it's not illegal to own and game on more than one platform, right? Hell, once I finish up with FFXV on my PS4 I am going to finish up BoTW on my WiiU.

I'm switching to PC, but I'm not gonna get rid of my PS4 since well friends, invested, and exclusives. Also if its any consolation I'll be using the DS4 to game on the PC. Although I can see in getting a PS5 Slim or something for the exclusives.

We'll give him the benefit of the doubt, since at launch that was fairly messy. I honestly don't remember any other game being that poorly done on PC in recent history ("recent history" in this case being the last decade.)

The people who try to argue that PC games are glichy broken messes are likely the same people who think Windows computers still bluescreen all the time and Macs are crash-proof and not "PC"s.

Heard issue was people trying to play at 60fps when the game wasn't designed to run it at that. You know how PC gamers feel about anything less than 60fps. Ubisoft games have issues too on PC.

No, the game was actually utterly broken, they actually took it off the store and refunded people over it before re-releasing a fixed version.

What he said. Steam was giving out refunds as well, which I think went beyond their normal refund policy because of how severe the issue was.

Lol at people complaining about broken pc ports. Besides the one rare occurrence, like arkham knight, even if a pc port is buggy it still runs better than the console version. Also note that sometimes its the vocal minority that complains. I have never had a broken pc port, arkham knight even worked fine for me and my friend. But i do know that other people have different experiences and I just got lucky. And yes, 60 fps should be the standard for most if not all games. And I dont care for the exclusive argument. Unless I play on everything, which i do, ill be missing out on something.

BECAUSE there are games on the PS4 that aren't on the PC is the reason I have a PS4 now.

Also, there are games that while not PS4 exclusive, ARE console exclusive (such as FFXV or the original Destiny, others like Ark-Sys's fighters tend to take a while before they release the PC version)

The constant consoles coming out, I bought the pro and now they're talking the ps5 already. I have a alienare alpha, a console is nicer for the gamepad which I prefer but I'm rediscovering my love for flight sim games on pc. I only buy the ps4 for MLB and gran turismo. Gran Turismo is an embarrassment imo since 5. Its just not necessary to own all of these for me. I don't need 60fps honestly. I've played old flight sims this year more than any new game on console this year so far. I haven't used my ps4 or x1 in a few weeks, I've been playing the flight sims. Its fun to tinker with folders, add ons, mods. Ill probably keep my ps4 pro and x1x until they die and be done.

While I do play some games on pc, I am mainly a console player. So will i ever be pc only? Lol nope. For the most part it gets so few of the genre I mainly play. Meanwhile PlayStation gets the most. So until this changes PlayStation will be the main way I play games.

Also it helps that I don't care for mods. They don't influence my decision in the least bit. They are nice to have but are not needed nor are they important.

The onyl games where I think mods are a make-or-break thing are some Bethesda games. Something like Mass Effect 3? Sure, the mods are nice - but they're all aesthetic, and they don't modify the game in so many ways.

Fallout, though, I have shit to make my own synth followers. I can play as a robot if I want. Whole new perks. New weapons. Completely altered things. Skyrim? Made a new race, custom voiced follower, walk around with the Space Sphere in my backpack, fight a Dragon outside thew wreckage of the Normandy from Mass Effect, etc.

I can't imagine being ANY system only, so limiting.

I am not saying one should go out and buy every system out there, or that many would have the money to waste like that, but purposely limiting yourself to not just a single console... but a single PLATFORM (I mean, PC, handhelds, and mobile are platforms too, among others) seems quite constraining and pointless.

PC has literally no exclusives i care about and is a hassle to upgrade.
I'll never be a PC gamer again it's not fun to use and i think it appeals to techies more than gamers. I just want to sit down and play a good game on my bed or couch.
My top 10 PS4 games = FFX HD, The Last of Us Remastered, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Yakuza 0, FF12 HD, Until Dawn, Journey.

You can still do that with PC. I mean, fuck - yesterday I used a cheap wireless keyboard and my 360 controller to play PSO2 on my TV from my bed off my PC. Took all of thirty seconds to set up, and that was mostly switching the HDMI box over to Input 3.

yet i can do that last part with a pc. its all about your attitude i guess. And upgrade comes once every 3-7 years roughly for normal people.
I have been PC gaming for a long time, but I'm still primarily a console gamer. I really enjoy the exclusives on both, but SOMETIMES I'll get a PS4 or PS3 version of a game over the PC version, simply because I hate not having physical copies of a game.

I played skyrim. Nodded the living f*** out of it. Never once did it make the experience good. And besides the base was so f***ing pathetic that it is one of the few games that needs mods.

When you have devs with actual talent mods are a non-issue. However when you talk about Bethesda then this is an entirely different case. They are an exception not the standard. They need mods to try and make what ever pitiful excuse of a game they created good. They need to ride the coat tails of modders.

7 years is normal if you get it nice and beefy tp start with, and after that, the upgrades are usually minor.

There's nothing limiting when other platforms have nothing of interest. I only by systems if they have games I want. I do not buy a system for the sake of owning it.

I own x360, ps3, psv, pstv, psp, ps4, ps2, ps1, nds, 3ds, Wii u, snes, and nes. I also own a gaming capable pc. The pc is more meant for multimedia though.

I only own all those cause they have received games I wanted to play. If they did not i would not own them. People can easily be one console only or one platform only. If nothing of interest is on the other platform why buy it? I do not own a xb1 because of this. They have nothing I want that I can't get elsewhere. So I am not going to go out and buy it for s***s and giggles.

Now it would make no sense if the other platform did have games you were interested in that others did not and you still won't buy it. That would be limiting not to mention stupid.
