What a whiff that was. What happened?
I remember when Nintendo wanted it to be, people liked what they heard, then the first highly compressed jpg screenshots were released and everyone instantly hated it and Nintendo panicked and didn't bother pushing it at all past that E3
the game was pretty difficult too. the fire emblem amiibo characters were gimmicky.

They should've released it after speeding up the enemy's turn as that was the main issue.
Honestly the art design was pretty ugly too but most of us can look past that if the gameplay is solid I think

I remember playing the demo and not liking it at all. I hated how long enemy turns were. They updated the demo to make enemy turns go faster but I didn't care to try it. I also hated the art style.

The game is dirt cheap now. So unfortunate. lol
now playing: Genesis Classics Collection (PS4), Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux (3DS)
I literally got a copy of the game for only $4.

Never got farther than the demo, which I don't believe I've gotten through yet. Was very interested at the time, now it's more of a "at some point I'll look at this also".

I got it specifically for Lincoln.
I admit, though I was influenced by stuff like The Amazing Screw On Head, and that kinda terrible movie Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, plus Fight Club, where Tyler Durden said he wanted to fight Lincoln because, "Big guy, big reach. Skinny guys fight 'til they're burger."

Um no. Nintendo tried to push it but critics and 3ds owners never took to it at all. The game was ugly. starred a racist ass white man. gameplay was slow and boring looking. designs were trash. I have no idea why Nintendo made such a big deal out of that game. even showed it behind closed doors and everyone was expecting FE or Advanced wars.
Today is the day: Bomberman, Paper Mario, K.Rool, Wonder Red, and Goku for Smash.

Same here. Like a few months ago, if not for the impulse buy of being so dirt cheap I never would have bothered. For that cheap price though I think it's definitely worth it.
Rings do nothing unless worn!
I didn't like it. Combat/gameplay was too slow and boring overall, art style was bland, voice acting was meh, and Amiibo was way too gimmicky. Traded it in after a month

If you want a 3DS Xcom game, get Ghost Recon Shadow something something (I forget the name) but I’ve heard many people say it’s the closest thing to an XCOM game on the 3DS. They really enjoy it, but I’ve not gotten my hands on a copy yet.

what "racist *** white man"? are you talking ab the man that freed the slaves? gtfo troll.
Don't forget, you start out as a pretty helpless white guy until a black guy saves his behind and powers him up. After that, you'll get a lion to join your crew, which might be seen as legitimizing "lion gender" nonsense. And... a few chapters later, you get an American Indian woman to join you, who's probably the most serious member of the cast. If it weren't praising the U.S.A., it'd be an SJW's paradise. ...Funny that that didn't boost its sales, isn't it?

That being said, I'll note that in reality Lincoln's main purpose wasn't to free the slaves, but to unite the country. The Emancipation Proclamation and 13th Amendment were political moves primarily designed to keep Europe out of the war. Not that he was fond of slavery, mind you, but he didn't see abolition as part of his job. It was just a pleasant coincidence to him that he got to begin the ending. (Shame that Jim Crow made life worse for most black people who hadn't lived on plantations, though. ...And that a lot of Southerners did a Face-Heel Turn on their opinion of black people to begin with.)
That's more awkward than playing WarioWare: Smooth Moves after swallowing the Wiimote!

Lincoln didn’t believe blacks should have the same rights as whites.

Which I already knew because, while slavery was ended, there was no documentation that Lincoln wanted to actually grant equal rights or at the very least end the 3/5 nonsense. My objection was to the back and forth “no u” which proves nothing, not Lincoln’s beliefs. I was also too quick to reply to realize you aren’t the one who made the initial claim (despite the fact that you referred to the person making the initial claim as “he”, not my best work, I know).

Different Time It was.

Back than, alot less people played video games and most of those that did were not so vocal back than.

The people that play games over the last 10 - 15 years has exploded phenomenally.

EDIT: Point being, the more popular something is, the more trolls , negativity arises no matter what.

It was fun, but you can tell this was essentially a gag-project IS made in-between Fire Emblem games.

I did like The Fox best, though. It helps that she's the only original character of the cast.

Yeah, same here. When they were hyping it before its E3 showing, people were skeptical, and then when they actually revealed it, people had mixed reactions.

Also, I don't know why I quoted you, The_Ninjadillo. But I did!]

Personally, I love the game, and think it's a shame that people are so against it. It's a very interesting strategy game, and I find it unfortunate that the art style (and sometimes even characters) turn people off so much. I mean, I know that there are people who genuinely don't like the playstyle, but plenty of people admit that its the art style. I understand the complaints about the enemies' turn (though I've seldom found it to be a bother), but the perspective I think actually adds complications to your decision-making in a similar, but less tedious, way to fog of war. I think that it actually suits the style quite well. But I suppose some people really want it laid out more like a chess game.... (That's a superficial similarity, I am aware.)
