if you trade with someone you just met, and 40,000 stardust if you max a friendship meter with someone by doing gymbattles and such. No clue how long that would take though.

LMAO, literally why does it cost anything to trade?

Best Friends may only have to spend 40,000 of the item while those who have just met may have to spend a million.

What the hell

I've never had more than 100k dust, and usually spend it every time I get ~20k.

How do you know how much stardust you have? I never battle so I never use it.

Nice, literally all that time you put in for all that stardust is good for 1 single trade
Banjo2553 4 hours ago#14
The fuck, why is it so expensive? There's no point to trading then.

The only legendaries I don't have are Kyogre and Groudon. I have Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh and Rayquaza. Not worth 1 million dust imo

although in one case, this can be a good thing. two 40k traders trade Mews until they get good IVs. otherwise, it seems always to be better just to catch another one.

This will be used once per regionlock per player, at most.

i don't think so. maybe in the limited offer boxes? but I only remember seeing the +dust item, not dust itself.

Pokemon Go has got to be one of the best examples of wasted potential in all of gaming.

I don't think you can. You can only get it from catching pokemon and doing random side quests.

Keep in mind you only get like a tiny amount of stardust per pokemon caught (like only a few hundred iirc)
Im like 50k shy of 1 million right now :3. Haven't played outside the Lavitar event in weeks tho
There will always be exceptions.

smh so you literally have to catch 10,000 pokemon for 1 trade unless you spend God knows how long doing random busy work with a stranger to get your friend meter up

In the past couple months there's almost always an event going on. In the beginning they did exist, then they were rare. Now it's less common to not be in an event

http://www.ign.com/articles/2018/06/18/e3-2018-pokemon-go-will-officially-get-trading-soon-alongside-new-friend-system

The 1 million base cost is only for "special trades" (IE legendary Pokemon, shiny Pokemon, and Pokemon you don't have in your Pokedex yet) and the cost goes down drasticallyonce you increase your friendship level with the friend you're trading with. It's specifically to add trading to the game without a "black market" developing that lets people freely sell Pokemon for real money to random people willing to pay.

People tend to not think of the business side of these things. They think "what? i can't just do whatever I want and ruin the game? I can bullshit tactics!"... it's a fuckin app game. The grind is literally the whole reason to keep playing

I'll just wait until they cut it. 1000000 dust is lol. 1/10 that cost would be approaching reasonable.

I was excited for trading and now I can't bring myself to care.

Thats the whole point of trading >_> So it's always going go be high unless you're trying to get a 2nd Dragonite or something

I don't see anything wrong with idiots paying real money to trade Pokemon. Not gonna stop people anyway.

Sounds fine to me. Only see myself trading to fill out the dex or give a friend some poke they need. Looking forward more to the friends list and gifts.

How do you implement a change like this and not charge for a faster way; greed is at least a sensible reason for this type of thing
