Who was your most wanted for each Smash?
For Melee I wanted Wario to be in it. He finally made it into Brawl. Edit: Actually Bowser was probably my most wanted for a new Smash game before Melee was announced, but since he was there when it was announced I was hoping Wario would make it in too. Brawl it was still Wario, though I also wanted Diddy (which both did) Smash 4-K. Rool. Ultimate-still K. Rool.... (Though Banjo is also one of my most wanted, but he wont happen, I also really want Excitebiker now as the retro rep)

Melee - Nobody in particular since I didn't know SSB would have a sequel. Was pleasantly surprised with Melee.
Brawl - Wolf and Ridley. Huge fan of Star Fox and Wolf in particular, so I wanted Wolf. Big fan of Metroid and Ridley so I wanted him too. Smash 4 - Ridley. I got Wolf so I wanted Ridley now. Ultimate - Wolf and Ridley. Again, huge fan of Wolf, so I wanted him back, and Ridley same as usual.

iirc, Plusle + Minun for Brawl
Ridley, with Snake and Wolf as close seconds when they were deconfirmed for 4 For Ultimate, smas as above before they were announced. Inkling might've been my next most wanted after that if they somehow weren't confirmed by then... I'm so hyped x_x There're still a lot of other characters I'm rooting for that'd be amazing to have, can't think of a #1 atm |

I seem to usually want obscure characters-at least for 4 and Ultimate.
For Melee I believe it was Bowser who I wanted the most. Brawl I wanted Sonic and a new F-Zero character (well one of them happened at least) As for Smash 4 and Ultimate I started wanting characters with little to no chance happening-except for K. Rool at least. The rest of them were characters like Mike Jones, Black Shadow, Pro Wrestling. |

It might be hard to believe but since I was a kiddow, I ALLWAYS wanted Rayman. I remember playSmash 64 with my cousin and tell him "man, it would be soooo cool if Rayman could be in a game like this... haha I know it'll never happen !"
When Melee releases, my mind was not different about rayman in smash because Melee roster was again just 1rd party characters. Again, my thoughs was "Rayman could fit so well in a Smash game..." But when Brawl releases, and Sonic and Snake was annonced, my hopes lauchs like a rocketship. I was already thinking "ok in the next game he have a chance !!!" But man, I wasnt ready for all the Smash 4 era... As a Rayman fan, my hopes was crush into pieces with the Artyomni's Rayman Fakeleak. The ballot gave me false hopes again, and all thoses hopes just for... bayonnetta and a random FE character... Back in thoses days I was salty af... But now, even If I do not let me have to much hopes for avoid disappointements, I can't hide the fact the Rayman is closer than ever from that Smash 5 roster. Ubisoft and Nintendo are like married right now haha. I know. It might be not happen again. Or they can add Rabbids instead, or even an AC character, idk... but I'm not gonna lie.. I want Rayman for this Smash so much, it would be my child dream. (PS : I've probably make lots of grammar error, pardon me, I'm french and my english is not perfect) |

I was wondering why I didn't remember anticipating Wario for Brawl... and it was because he was in the reveal trailer lol. Though I was probably hoping he would make it into a Melee sequel before that. Well I was hoping he make it into whatever the next Smash game was after Melee, as well as Melee when it was announced (Bowser I wanted more in Melee, but he was the first one announced or rather one of the first so I didn't consider him in that post)

I never really got into pre-launch speculation until pre-4 so, like...I guess Rool for both 4 and Ultimate. Maybe Ashley pre-4?

Kind of surprise I'm not seeing a bunch of K. Rool's or Ridley posts. I'm an oddball who ain't big on Metroid or the Donkey Kong Country series. I respect both titles and do believe that both characters deserve to get in (and would likely prefer K. Rool over Dixie do to being more interesting ), but neither character has ever personally been on my radar. To me, if they got in, great! If not, meh. Didn't care. Same with Megaman, though even though I do respect his series, I was against him for being competition for Phoenix Wright getting in. Since Smash 4's DLC threw the whole (only one rep per 3rd party ) thing out the window, I'm now cool with Megaman's existence in the series.

The five years before 4 was revealed: Ridley and Mega Man
After 4 was revealed: Little Mac, and then after that it was Shulk by the time the next summer rolled around
4's DLC: Inkling and Shovel Knight
Before Ultimate was revealed: Dark Samus, to a lesser extent Inkling (who I figured was guaranteed anyways)

You have to be more subtle with your initial trolling effort, then let it escalate. ^Yeah, roughly tried to keep it around top 10 every Smash, but not many were included until Smash 4 so the list was added to every few years or so. I'm glad I was able to get a few in Smash over the years though.Best Genre: RPG

Still need to see Goku, Paper Mario, Elma, Rex & Pyra, ARMS, Wonder Red, and Bomberman playable someday. I have wanted Bomberman since smash 64. in fact I had no idea who ness was and I convinced myself that his silhouette was bombermans before unlocking him as a kid. lolToday is the day: Bomberman, Paper Mario, K.Rool, Wonder Red, and Goku for Smash.Melee- I guess I didn't have any expectations, but I could say I was most surprised to not see Wario in the game.
Brawl- Dedede and Diddy Kong of the 1st party. Obviously Sonic overall. I actually thought Dedede couldn't get in because Meta Knight had taken up the Kirby newcomer slot.
