Unless you throw discs around, I don't ever see the need to.

No, but they ask me occasionally.
That's all I have to say about that.

People could be an arse and buy the insurance then just keep scratching the discs over and over making them leak money.

if youre the type to place disc on the table after playing instead of in its case, then you should get the insurance

Buying used, not playing, or getting far enough to experience disc problems, and then running into issues well after the 30 day exchange period.

That was a thing back when games came on dvds, but since bluray discs are so highly scratch resistant there's no reason to get the disc insurance

They told me once that it covers if you snap the disc in half.

So, I told them to give me a copy of Dark Souls 2 and some of that insurance. LOL :D

i had one disc issue in the 100s of games ive bought since they switched to disks and they replaced it anyways. im pretty sure ive saved enough over the years to pay for a few games now by not buying the disk protection

Hell no. I'm not about to pay extra for game insurance. First before I pay for the game I ask to see the disc, then as soon as I get home from the store I install the game. If the install goes to 100% it's fine,

If it the game refuses to complete the install I inspect the disc closer to see why it's not installing. If I can't find it, I take the game back to the store for another copy. I've even gone to other gamestop stores for other copies.

After I get a working copy I do the most important thing of all, I TAKE CARE OF MY STUFF.

There's no logical reason to pay for game insurance if you take care of your stuff.

No, I treat my discs with care, handle them correctly and put them back in the box when I'm done.
That way they last decades. ..yes I have hundreds of cartridges and floppies several decades old that still work fine.

I wonder what they would do in that case. Let's face it, they didn't create the plan to lose money and I wonder if the manager starts citing some fine print someplace saying scratched discs of that particular type aren't covered. All with a straight face of course.

Nope. And Gamestop isn't the first one to "offer" it either. Even when I was a kid, Toys R Us would ask that. I don't know who is stupid enough to ever mistreat their 50-60 dollar game... but I'm sure there are some people who don't give a damn.

Nope and I'll never buy that warranty since I tend to take care of my discs, it's good for people with kids that like to throw discs around like Frisbees because they're "bored"

On newer games I will. I'd rather pay an extra $3/4 now than have to buy the game again on the chance that it breaks.

surprised they havent offered me insurance on the $5 preorder

my cousin pretty much just throws the cases away after he buys games and then they use them as frisbees and coasters when they're not using them
