So Nintendo had better fucking port them. The GameCube versions are phenomenal but gimmicky unresponsive controls in later versions absolutely ruin them.

If they’re never remade in HD I guess I will have no other option than buying a GameCube or wait for GC classic.

I played through all 3 to 100% and never had to flail my arms once. Moving and aiming at the same time was more accurate and fluid than using the gc controller.
AngelosTheHero 13 hours ago#7
They really are not garbage. If you're flailing your arms, you're doing it wrong. Did you even actually try to aim?

Nothing is wrong with wanting to use a controller but stating the motion controls are terrible is flat out wrong. The prime series got overwhelmingly positive praise for how they handled motion controls.

They allowed you to aim more accurately and actually speed up the pace of the game, difference was you had to actually aim. The lock on button didn't do all the work for you anymore.

Just because you do not like them, or you are unable to use them well doesn't make them garbage

The motion controls for the Metroid Prime games were awesome. They were not gimmicky or unresponsive. They actually made the (already great) games better.
Starwars4J 11 hours ago#14
The motion controls are largely considered the best way to play the games. Sounds like you just were doing it wrong.

Played both the gamecube versions and the Prime Trilogy on Wii, the motion controls were a considerable improvement, and I usually dislike gimmicks. The only real complaint I had was the removal of sequence break glitches

Aiming is so much better and more responsive with motion controls than with a stick. If you only tried it briefly maybe you didn’t make it past the learning curve. It would be like saying bicycles are unrideable after trying it once, before you learn how to balance.

TC has never played Metroid Prime 3 nor many others games she writes about.

This is yet another person trying to cause arguments on a regular basis on this site.
FaceThePain 9 hours ago#22
If they bring over Metroid Prime Trilogy, odds are they will make the joycons work like the wii mote did. So you'll have to use motion anyways.

I liked them but for traditionalists it would be nice if a rerelease has controls for both dual stick and motion control. Best of both worlds.

You're not actually trying to use your entire arm to aim with the wii mote, are you? Use your wrist for aiming, not your entire freaking arm like a moron. This is probably why many people hate motion controls, they think using the strength of their entire arm is the correct way to aim.

Of course your arm is going to get tired if you idiotically use the entire core strength of your arms. It's literally almost the same as using a mouse, by moving your wrist. Your wrist is the support that guides your arm through the motions. I can rest my elbow on a arm rest while aiming with motion controls. If you aren't doing that, then that's why you hate motion controls, because you can't do it properly.

You're flailing your arms in the air like a crazy person, as you said.

1) The game uses barely any motion controls and what is there is hardly worth mentioning here.

2) The pointer controls are excellent and I believe it is a tragedy that they have been removed from console gaming. I finally found a solution to the mouse/keyboard issue that dual analog failed to fix (too slow and clunky) and now it is gone and all we are left with is the waggle that I despise so very, very much.

3) Your loss on missing out on the Prime Trilogy with pointer controls. The games are sincerely made better for having them. To each their own, however.

Read my previous post. He's not using his wrist. He most likely thinks having his arm raised at mid-range level and moving his arm around wildly is the correct way. That's the stupid way that would tire anyone's arms.

It really didn’t take long for TC to show exactly why they made this topic. All they care about is attacking people who actually played MPT and know how motion controls work. Any time someone screams about waving your arms around with motion controls it becomes obvious they haven’t used them. You literally just move your wrist.

First of all, gyro and pointer aren’t the same thing. MPT isn’t even a Motion Plus game for fucks sake.

I can't take anyone seriously with their drive-by posts by saying motion controls suck without giving a reason. It's fine to hate them, but please stop being ignorant about how Prime Trilogy's motion controls work. You don't flail your arms, you use your wrist.

If you say motion controls that require to use your wrist sucks, doesn't that mean you hate mouse controls on PC? You're using your wrist in both scenarios. You're aiming the mouse cursor with your wrist just like you're aiming the cursor with the wii mote. The only difference is that the Wii Mote gives people the wrong idea of how to use it, and that really annoys me. In fact, this was the first thing I did when I picked up a Wii Mote for the first time, so I just don't understand why other people aren't capable of doing the same thing.

Theres a big difference between IR pointer and motion controls.

Needless to say Prime 3 did have its arm flailing moments like using the grappling hook on shielded enemies or something.
