We still don't have a single good normal racing game. I'm still waiting :(

Well it didn't end up real, so there's nothing to freak out about. One of the early Switch rumors was of a Mario/Rabbids crossover and it was like a year later that it was revealed to be true. So this could still be a possibility.

One could have asked the same question when Diddy Kong Racing was first announced with little to no information, but now, everyone wants it, including a new entry. It's only after we get information about what the game is about when we can actually take into consideration if it's logical or not. Not before.

The reason why I have seen some object to a Star Fox racer is because they want another F-Zero and another Star Fox game that plays like Star Fox 64 (with no motion controls).

Well my theory of this... weird idea (not seriously I really want a new F-Zero game), is that probably Nintendo want to make a story based on one of the endings of Star Fox Command (the DS game) in which Fox and Falco joins to a GP championship's races
And who knows?, probably they would want to make finally a connection between the Star Fox and F-Zero universes

If it’s anything like the “leaked” description, it actually sounds fun. Space racing game where you get to blast other racers, has story mode with hub world, boss battles, etc. What’s not to like?

Same reason Mega Man became a 3X3 grind action rpg or Kingdom Hearts exists or Marvel vs Capcom or Super Smash Bros. If it has a lot passion and dedication behind it any idea can be made into a great product

As far as I know it has not been confirmed not to be real, so it's possible it will be announced later (closer to release).

oh its real alright, just because it didn't get a e3 announcement doesn't mean it isn't coming, also...if its not, then what the hell IS retro up to? we know they aren't working on MP4.

I don't think it being real is a guarantee, or even a probability - not only was it not announced at E3, it was also heavily tied to a completely fabricated 'showroom schedule' that was purposely manufactured to appear official I believed it was possible until that E3 showroom schedule showed up: since then, the only thing we know for certain is that 4chan has a supposed 'leaker' who is not opposed to taking the extra step of making fake promotional materials

Didn't end up being real, but on the smallest chance it HAD been real, I feel like it would have come off from that one ending in Star Fox Command where Fox and Falco became pros on the racing circuit.
