Any problems with PayPal? Have a bunch of games to sell now that I'm going digital for the sake of space. I've sold on Amazon, usually at loss of a few dollars, but maybe if I auction some of these, I can get back what I put in.

What are your experiences with eBay?

It's pretty painless. Although you do have to pay eBay a portion of your sale. So that may have an impact on your bottom line. Personally I just post on CL. Faster that way.

Side note : you'll lose money regardless where you sell.

Well, yeah to an extent, but on Amazon I would have to mark an item down to make a sale. If I auction it, and people keep bidding until the last minute, I could potentially get what I'm asking for, couldn't I?

In this regard, yes. Price goes as far as the bidders take it. Just remember that's a 2 way street and set the opening bid accordingly.

if you're american; don't use global shipping policy.. basically restricts you items to US only (cause for small items like games; it's not worth it.. i pay them like twice as much as i pay you.. really messed up they make more than the seller IMO)

I've been buying and selling on eBay for years, with varying degrees of success in selling.

Main thing is I always use Recorded delivery for selling, because after a few previous sales have gone wrong I don't trust the local Postal service to not lose stuff, I pass the price of that onto the buyer, if they're not in to sign for the item when the Postie brings it, that's their problem.
I'm a Grammar Nazi, your equals you're. I'm more of a gamer though, Viva la Xbox!

I used to sell my games on eBay back when I used to buy physical and never had an issue. If you're new to eBay you're not gonna get the money until 3 days after the buyer receives the item. At least that's how it was when i first started years ago.

He's upset because he got outed in another topic as a troll who supposedly Sold his Xbox 3-4 months ago, but says he still has one, and has been behaving like a hysterical hen ever since.

Hey, Lonny: get your butt hurt out of here! Dr. Sam Loomis.

GBpackers and Lonny Johnson are both illiterate 2nd rate trolls and losers. Real truth.

BTW, GB, considering that your M.O is to keep trading your games in (as Michael) , faster than you buy them, you must really be hard up for cash. @gbpackers

You're the one trying to sell it on eBay lol

You need to get a job and start supporting yourself instead of asking your parents. Truth.

You just confirmed that you're illiterate. Thanks, GB. I can always count on you to make a backside out of yourself. @gb

Shouldn't you be making your billionth topic about how Best Buy screwed you, or how you traded in a game you haven't bought yet? Lol, you are such a loser.

Yeah I'm just going to ask for about half of what I paid and see what happens.

As far as the actual topic goes. I haven't been on eBay in ages and back when I was I only purchased but I've known people who used it to get back some money for things they no longer needed and it worked pretty well for them. I'm sure it's a bit of a lottery but no matter what you'll probably get more than you would from GameStop or Best Buy trade in.

I forgot to mention that part of this topic was prompted by something I saw earlier about there being more protection for the buyer on eBay than the seller.

Good luck! Hopefully at least a couple of the items get a lot of interest so you get more than expected.

Thanks! Though, I think evolve is one of them, so I may really have to lower that one haha.

You need to stop complaining to Best Buy in hopes of getting gift cards due to your ignorance. And stop trying to return digital games. And stop having your parents buy you things. Truth.

Never had an issue.

Always use first class shipping, it's only 2-3$ with tracking and is only a few days to pretty much anywhere in the USA as long as it's not on the complete opposite side of you.

I never sell to Alaska or Hawaii and always state that in my description.

I've sold videogames for years. Since the PS2 days, in fact. I have had all but one successful selling transactions when parting with my games.

Here are some tips:

Always take photos of the case, manual (if there is one), and both sides of the game disk

Always ship with tracking since there are scammers out there that might claim you did not ship the game. You will have proof of it if you ship the game with tracking

I always prefer selling to US buyers only. I hate international shipping fees.

Charge around $3 dollars for shipping if you're not going to use "free shipping." You will lose a bit of money due to shipping supplies (e.g., padded envelop) though. I always lose money due to shipping materials that Ebay does not take into account with their shipping calculator.

Just know that you will be charged around 12% between both Ebay and Paypal for fees and services.

Describe in your auction listing the condition of both the case and disk. I hate it when sellers put "Very Good" in their condition listing when the game is great condition but the case looks like ass.

If there is a problem with the buyer trying to rip you off, be in constant communication. Ebay records all messages between sellers and buyers and will use that information when disputing a problem with a buyer.

Ship your game a day or two after the close of auction or buy it now.

I think that is about it. At least that is all I can think of. Good luck selling your stuff. :)
