Anyone know current sales? I couldn't find anything recent. I'm guessing 2.5-3 Million by now
Currently: Super Sm4sh Bros, Legend of Zelda BotW/ALBW, Pokemon Sun, Pooch & Yoshi's Wooly World, Bomberman R, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, MHOmega, WWE 2K17

We will get an update on the 26th.
Tom Brady is the GOAT
For Switch worldwide? It sold 2.74 mill at launch. Bare minimum it's like 5 mill now.

Though we'll know for sure on July 26th

Minimum? That's much closer to its max. I'm guessing around 4-4.5 maybe. Seemed like it has slowed up a lot already. Especially with the shipping issues.

Is that the end of their 1st quarter?
Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans.
It's when their financial report comes out I believe.

Sales are definitely hindered by shipping issues, but demand certainly isn't slowing.

3000 people lined up at one store in Japan prior to the Splatoon 2 launch just to get a chance at one of the 250 systems the store had available.

Pics of the lines...

Well just on NPD and Media Create

Launch sales 2.74 world wide.

NPD: 1.57(total to jun 30)-0.91(Mar) = 0.66
Media create: 1.09(total to july 16)-0.51(mar) = 0.57

2.74 + 0.66 + 0.57 = ~ 3.97 mil

Half the switch launch sales are US and JPN alone. so if we assume world wide it sold half for april -july then probably add a mil.

for sure 3.97 and estimate about 5 mil WW.

It's still weird to me how the US and Japan apparently account for just 1/2 of the Switch's sales (or at least launch month sales) - back when the N64 sold 32 million, I believe 20 million of those sales were in NA alone.
Yeah... Sorry.

Switch is at 2.76 million as of March 31st and in Japan alone has sold enough to push it past 3 million.

3000 people in a line means 3000 consoles. If they had 3000 consoles there would be no line and there would be no news.

This whole supply is a lie meant to give the impression that everyone is selling their soul for a Switch, in fact it's far from that.

This.

And I don't get why people are bringing up the 3000 people standing in line. Of those 3000 people, 2750 didn't get a Switch.

My guess is around 4.4 million through June, but I really have no idea what the sales numbers for April to June are outside of the US and Japan.

But anyway, it's 2.74m worldwide for March, plus around 660k for April to June in the US according to NPD leaks, and something like 450k for that period in Japan (IIRC). March sales for everywhere else were slightly over those in the US for March, so I feel like it's probably hasn't sold much more than 700k there for April to June. If we assume something lower (around 550k or so) then we get 4.4 million worldwide from March to June. I imagine it could be a bit higher than that.

So yeah, I'd say sales being pretty close to 5 million by the end of July sounds reasonable. I guess we'll have to see how much Splatoon 2 manages to boost sales.
There's a mystery to be uncovered here, that's for sure. And I get the feeling the truth is beyond my wildest imagination.

That's Japan alone, and it would take more than a few thousand to equal success. The original Splatoon sold several millions more in Japan than the West, and yet the system still flopped.

It was 1.54 to the US's 1.58, which is my bad, but for having substantially less stock compared to us, that metric speaks to the popularity of the game in Japan which was my point. Doesn't mean that Japan alone will make it a 50+ million unit console seller.
