Don't fix what isn't broken.
Not only that IMO, it got even worse with the update where you can't exit the game with guide > options. What are they thinking? The 360 dash was a well oiled machine. The dash's downgrade has been an issue all the XB1's life, but now that I'm playing a game where I need info, like making sure people aren't friends, all the 'extra' junk they added is really affecting things.

Because it's loading all the crap in Mixer, Community, and One Guide (now entertainment) it's slows everything else down. When people were hiding those tabs the other tabs got a lot faster. It used to be Dev exclusive and that's probably why they were reporting the it being super fast after the last big update. So remove the ads, Mixer crap, and stuff no one has any interest in and it was buttery smooth. |

But it maintained its ease of use. Exiting games, the way that recent players are listed, finding their friends, ect. All still easier. And when you cant pause, the simplicity really counts. For instance Im playing Friday the 13..... if I'm spectating after dying and I see a Jason NOT killing someone in easy grasp, I NEED to know are they friends with them. Because if I'm host I'm dropping the match and costing everyone their XP. Even if not, I'll drop because they're prolonging the match for no reason. I've play alot of games this gen, but never really needed the functionality of finding out stuff about players until now, huge PITA.

I have no problems with the dash. I find it well organized. Play last game at the single touch of A button, trigger zips you down to pins, bumper over to store.
I appreciate they kept it simple and still make revisions. I don't think people remember how sluggish the blades were when they lagged. I'd rather them revise it constantly than never. Sony's dash is in need of a refresh but they never do so |

I feel like the xbox one dash is sometimes just horrendously slow. Especially on startup that s*** takes forever to load up some days

As someone who actually uses all/most features on both, I find the X1s interface to be vastly superior. Don't even get me start f on the PS4. That thing is clunky.

What they need to let us do is allow us to put on there what we want. If the only thing other than the main menu is the VIDEO GAMES store that's all that should load. Mixer shouldn't load until clicked on.

I find the 360 dash to be more pleasant on the eyes on easier to navigate. It's simple but gets the job done efficiently.

I'm a pure Xbox guy and I totally agree. The X1 dashboard was ok to start off with, but these "updates" suck IMO.

I might be in the minority but I actually do like the Xbox One dash board. They have stripped some features away that I did like, but overall it's a good dash.
The PS4 one needs to be updated in my opinion. It just feels so dated. I got a PSP back in 05 and the layout is nearly identical in 2017. Some people might be really happy with the consistency but I think it needs to change.

The current dash is probably my favorite Xbox dash. It's fast and I like that you can do mostly everything from the guide.

Same, I feel both the PS4 and Xbox One dash is kinda slow. (it actually kinda bothers me).
The transition isn't as smooth compared to the 360 or PS3. Oh well...

The most annoying thing that I regularly come across is the extra step for exiting a game. Plus if your recent game is a download it might not even be ordered correctly in 'recent games'

The 360 dash wasn't born overnight, and it had some hard ass times too. Does nobody remember the long time ti took to sync stuff up sometimes if you had a lot of games on your achievements list? Plus it's already been mentioned about how it went from the blades into the Kinect friendly mode.
Personally I have been kind of hating the Xbox One dash all gen until recently, and now everything I do is just a few button presses away. I really can't complain and don't miss the 360 dash anymore. The PS4 dash isn't terrible, it's nice and fast and responsive, and if I played my PS4 more I can see where people may prefer that dash. But to me it seems like they're trying too hard to make the XrossMB work instead of evolving more. I don't really have any love for any of the dashboards,. except for the complete functionality that would come up when you press the 360 guide button. The actual 360 dash wasn't great, but that guide button had most everything you need quickly at your fingertips.

i recently got to use the blades again a few weeks ago.
they f***ing suck. it's hard to find ANYTHING. it's completely unintuitive and clunky as hell. the only thing it had going for it is that it looked really cool.

Which just pressing guide used to do... Quitting a game is guide > select game > start > more options > quit game.
