  3. Which tv to get for 4K/Xbox scorpion?
Hi. Looking to buy a new tv specifically for 4K gaming. Price isn't a deciding factor. I only want 55/60 inch. It will be on a dresser not wall mounted? If not the ones below what would you recommend and why?

With your bench 1 RM how do you get 7lbs? Normally it would end with a 0 or a 5.

I would recommend you set a price range, do research on models, and check models out in person. I also recommend not just going with whatever model people here recommend without doing your own research and really checking out the model in person if possible.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but I think the better question is actually what gaming monitor is best for 4k?

There are plenty of good 4k tvs, with HDR, but there are actually very few 4k monitors, and some of them only support 30hz, which is garbage for gaming, and on top of that, nearly all are advertised as requiring an Nvidia PC graphics cards to even support free sync/gsync.

There aren't many 4k monitors worth a damn out there right now so I wouldn't even waste the money until the technology is perfected, if you really want to game in 4k on your PC how bad would it look to just HDMI your machine to a 4k TV set because there are many affordable options when it comes to a 4k set.

Why? All but two of my friends are console gamers with all but one of them on Xbox. I also use my tv for more than just gaming. As it is too I replaced my laptop in 2013 with one that could game and I gamed on it for less than a year. Now I barely use my computer for even general use, can't even remember the last time I turned it on.

Because if you're a keen gamer and have that kinda money there's no reason for you to be limiting yourself to consoles.

Your opinion is wrong when I just gave you the reason of friends being on consoles. When consoles and PC have crossplay for more than a few games it will be a valid opinion but that's not the reality as of now so saying "there's no reason to be limiting yourself to consoles" is actually wrong. This is also a reason why there are people who want the Xbox One X, better performance while still being able to play with friends on Xbox.

Opinions can be wrong when they ignore facts...the hilarious thing too is that I said your opinion would be a viable one when crossplay becomes more widespread and not just a small handful of games.

What facts? You came with no facts. I game with my friends on the XB1 and I have a PC as well, again, limiting yourself to one platform is a choice, and in my opinions it's a stupid one if you have the money to do otherwise and are a keen gamer.

In any case this isn't about you, my opinion is on the TC who clearly has a decent bankroll with his TV options.

TV choice depends on viewing distance,$$$ and user preference.

For XoX..any 1080p screen and above work...
But none is ready and give all spec that XoX deliver.
HDR,WGC and Freesynch are not perfectly implented on 4k TV.
Choose wisely...

And most of the games I play are online with my friends with the few I don't typically being single player experiences that you can only get on Nintendo and Sony platforms.

I can't play with my Xbox friends while playing on PC. That is a reason to not build a pc. When cross platform is more widespread this will no longer be a reason to play on console over pc.

I'd go option 2 out of the ones you listed. I hear the differences from OLED to the better 4k UHDR are pretty minimal when factoring in the price tag. My advice: go for the television with the best input lag, refresh rate, and best ratings in regards to gaming. I would check out rtings.com to screen the televisions you have listed and see what they recommend. Hope that helps.

You said people who can afford tvs like these. I already have a Samsung KS8000 and am looking to get another 4k tv next year after hdmi 2.1 is (hopefully) rolled out. My budget is around $6000 maybe more for a 65" model. Sounds like I fit in with what you said. You said there is no reason to limit yourself to console and I have a reason why someone would play on console instead which means there are reasons for someone with the money to choose console over pc.

Good for you.

Again it's my opinion that if you can plop that on a TV you should be reaping the benefits with a decent PC, especially if you play a lot of single player games. If you're not into PC gaming, that's cool. A simple

And I don't play a lot of single player games. I mostly play multiplayer games besides a few Sony and Nintendo exclusives. I can't play the multiplayer ones with my friends which is why the PC I spent over 1300 on a few years ago hasn't been turned on in ages and I view as one of the worst purchases I've made. I had fun with it for a few months and then it got set aside basically because it can't be used with all my friends on Xbox.

The answer to the bold is no BUT you did say that if you are a keen gamer with that kind of money that there is no reason to limit yourself to console. I have that kind of money and prefer the performance that can be acquired by playing on pc but I have a reason to be limited to console. That is also why I said that your opinion will be more valid when crossplay is more widespread. This is also why I personally am excited for the Xbox One X as it means I can get closer to the performance I want but am able to get it while being on Xbox with my friends.

This. I had a top of the line PC, and barely used it. All my friends play on consoles, and that trumps the bells and whistles of a PC rig. I might build one again in the future, but it would just be for exclusives and work related stuff.

Well, my comments t was geared more toward a 4k gaming monitor for console game. Since there is going to be a big push for 4k games, the competative community pretty to play on a mo it rather than a TV.

But like you said, there aren't many options right now....I was looking to switch to a desktop style setup for my console gaming, but because there aren't many options when it comes.es to monitors, kind leaves people like me stuck.

I do hear you, I'm getting a XB1X too, for the reasons you are, I have plenty friends there, I have a good TV, it makes sense. I guess what I mean by "keen gamer" is perhaps different from yours, gaming is my main hobby, I also try to have the best experiences for every game I play, as well as having a varied taste in game genres, having multiple platforms allows me get the best of all worlds in my eyes.

And I get the cross-play thing, once I'm able to play all MS exclusives cross-play with my buddies from my PC, I have no need for an Xbox system.

Best one of that bunch is Sony Z9D. No image retention/burn in and nearly as good blacks, way brighter - superior HDR performance. Highly recommend it over those OLED's.
