Maybe you should do some research before making a pointless topic like this.

It's been stated that each PART(not episode) will have the content of a full game.

I'll await the complete remastered FF7 trilogy collection on PS6
My top 10 PS4 games = FFX HD, The Last of Us Remastered, Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, Persona 5, Yakuza 0, FF12 HD, Until Dawn, Journey.

No, it's not. It's going to be like a trilogy.

Similar to how 13, 13-2, 13-3 worked.

Finally get the first flash back with Zack....To be continued. XD

Nah it will be just fine.
Damn, you are adorable. Did you pick that gun because it looks cool? You totally did, right? I ain't gonna lie. You scare the s*** out of me.
VIIRemake is a trainwreck. I hope VII fanboys enjoy the ride.

Wouldn't the ride be more like that shitty roller coaster minigame that I disliked so much? Lol

Maybe by the time it does come out , it will be a PS5 game.
FF7 is the best game of all time though, so it will be fine.

So a bloated mess. Just throw a bunch of shit in it.

Even though this is like what? 2 year old news? I still think they will be fleshing out the story. Possibly adding in elements of their extended universe like Zack. I don't really know as I don't work for square, but that's all I can of. If they did it where they literally split the entirety of FF7 into 3 games, a ton of people would be pissed. I wouldn't even buy it until it was a complete collection of that was the case.

That's a good point. This game upon initial release will likely have a lukewarm reception, but the remaster will be praised to no end. "People always loved this game, it was just a vocal minority who said otherwise"

First of all, it is not going to be like Resident Evil Revelations 2, as has been pointed out. Full games for each episode instead, similar to the .hack games or Xenosaga.

Second, what was wrong with Revelations 2? It was a budget game and you could buy the full game digitally and physically after all episodes came out. It was only a $25 game and, from my perspective, was pretty good for the price.

Well the story was fucking terrible for starters. I bought the disc with all the episodes but I feel for the people who were playing and waiting one episode at a time. No payoff at the end whatsoever.

Why bring this up now? It's been known for over a year that the FF7 remake will be episodic. I simply googled "final fantasy vii remake episodic", and this was literally the first hit:

I just played through Resident Evil Revelations 2 and thought the game was good but the episodic format was pointless and likely a cash grab mechanism at the time it was created. It did nothing positive for the game.

Those are complete movies though. This is like chopping Star Wars Episode 1 into 3 or 4 or 5 episodes and calling it episodic, like the Hobbit which was dog shit.

not all full priced r-right?
10th enemy has the bomb.
Why worry over this detail? As long as each episode is the length of a full game it will be fine.

What you should be much more worried about is everything Square Enix does is painfully mediocre.

When has Resident Evil ever had a great story? Their stories are akin to the stories in direct-to-DVD horror movies.

The episodic format wasn't a "cash grab," but an experiment. The point of the experiment was to see if consumers preferred a model where they didn't have to buy the whole game; this way, if someone didn't like the game, they could stop after the first episode and only have spent $5 instead of $25, while also allowing Capcom to get paid from someone who was on the fence and decided to try out the first episode. This is the same experiment I/O took with the recent Hitman game, as it allows them to get paid as they are working on content and not only after it is done. That way, those funds can pay for the development of the game itself instead of having to dip into the piggy bank to secure the funds and then hope it pays enough to replenish the piggy bank.

The waiting was bad more because Sonys for not being like the rest of the world and updating their servers in the early AM.

But the episodes were a week apart. Not months apart like most other Episodic stuff.

You seem to be under the impression the remake has the exact same story as the original; let me clue you in: it doesn't. They are using the general framework, but it's an entirely re-written story. New script, side characters fleshed out, some completely new scenes, some old scenes completely gone or re-worked/expanded on, new game locations, etc.

What ending did you get because there is a bad ending.

The actual ending is one of the better finales in the series. Very very satisfying.

I thought the story was fine and very entertaining as long as your expecting the camp and bravado that you always get from Resident Evil.

Revelations 2 was great though and one of the better RE games.

Everyone has thier own idea of what "episodic" really means for FFVII remake. The truth of the matter is that the game is much too far off to be making assumptions about anything. SE could announce tomorrow that they decided not to go with episodes or that it will now be 5 games instead of 3. You just never know until the final product is upon us.

Once Square are able to create all the assets, battle system, character models etc. the release window for the sequels should be shorter, like FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns. Each game after FFXIII was released 2 years apart. Saying that, I can't see the PS4 getting the full game at this rate.

Can you give us a good reason it takes 15-20 years to release the first episode of a game that's already been released before?
The game play is going to be typical Nomura style button mashing bullshit, so it would be bad even if it weren't episodic.

It wasn't at all a cash grab, if anything it was simply a marketing trick. Its not like they gained extra money from making it episodic.

but it was sorta enjoyable for what it was, though i wouldn't like many games to have it. It was nice to have something to look forward to every week.
