In average jean/pant pockets, it usually doesn't go in all the way and feels awkward with the sticks, especially if you want to sit down.

I'm not going to pretend the 3ds xl was comfy in pockets though.

Because it can't fit easily in most pockets. Even as a guy that wears cargo pants, I don't like how big the Switch is in my pockets. It's also an exposed screen device, which is something I try to avoid putting in my pockets. My phone always has a flip style wallet case around it

I've never understood why you would even want to do that. It's an expensive electronic device, that s***'s going in a case in my bag, the same as the DS and 3DS before it.
Well I tried my front pocket on my shirt. It fits...but I look really stupid.

I could fit the switch(in a neoprene sleeve), joycons, and a game case in the same pocket on my jeans.

Just visualizing people wearing clothes that baggy with pockets that big makes me so uncomfortable. Visualizing people wearing clothes that baggy with pockets that big with a Switch and accessories shoved in them makes me want to puke.

Not all jeans have to be skintight or hammer pants. A standard pair of jean's pockets aren't near big enough to carry the Switch comfortably let alone safely since its not a clamshell. Even cargo pockets are pushing it.

Oh and please. That lecture about carrying an "expensive" device in one's pocket is ludicrous. I'm 100% sure you people dropped your 3DS and DS a couple or dozen times. My 3DS, New 3DS and DS are in perfect condition and were never dropped or anything. I know what actually damages my handhelds thank you very much.

Man, I'm 6' tall and 230 pounds and I wear cargo pants half of the time. I'm not a small guy and I don't wear small clothes. And I don't own a pocket outside of my winter jackets inside pocket that can hold it. My biggest cargo pouch is too shallow and the switch sticks out almost half way. I will need to see some pictures of people casually tossing this thing in their pockets.

I've managed to keep it in my pockets with the joycons in my other pocket while grocery shopping once. I decided to never do it again because the screen is exposed and it also felt really stupid and not practical. If I had to, sure, but I can't imagine a situation where I would absolutely NEED to have my Switch on me without a case nearby.

Because it comfortably can't and I've tried several times. I wear jeans or pants. Some don't even go in. The small New 3DS is the only comfortable pocketable recent handheld. I also don't like having full pockets. Phone, wallet and keys are already enough.

I haven't f***ed with cargo pants in almost 2 decades, so maybe they allow it, but I don't even see many people rocking those anymore.

It's all moot, though, really. No portable is currently pocket friendly except phones. If I could fit my Switch in my pocket, I wouldn't put it in there, I'd put it somewhere more safe.
