- Why does Michael Pachter get so much hate for predictions when...

Reggie is essentially the face of Nintendo outside of Japan, yet he has little say in what the home office does. He's the one that has to try and justify stupid practices like not including an AC adapter with the New 3DS, or having to use a smartphone app for voice chat in Splatoon 2. At worst, if he's lying about something...he's doing it to keep his job.
Michael Pachter is an industry analyst that is notorious for being wrong. Beyond that, he always frequently provides commentary on industry happenings (such as calling gamers "whiny" with regard to the controversy over Mass Effect 3's endings). I think he even called Iwata "the late and not so great" last year (which is wholly unprofessional, regardless of your opinion of the man). While people may feel Reggie lies to them, I doubt he's ever outright insulted them like Pachter has done on a few occasions. |

You do realize that no system lasts forever, right? Or will you blame it's eventual retirement on the Switch no matter what? Reggie was clear that the Switch isn't ending the 3DS, and it hasn't. Reggie doesn't have Iwata's charm with his used care salesman pitch, but ultimately he's just the face and PR for Nintendo of America. He doesn't have any actual power on games(maybe he has some sway for the western market in terms of support) release. I can't really blame him when he can't say anything that would contradict HQ in Japan. He's very loyal to them, and will say anything to make Nintendo look good in a good light, but nothing like blatantly lying, or else he'd be in deep s***.Less is more. 2. As I said above, he said "anytime soon." Barely half a year later, the 3DS has had online features cut out from multiple games, it's getting miiverse shut down, and it has a mere one or two games announced for next year. That's all pretty bad and not at all as Reggie implied.

I always thought lies we're black or white, it's either the truth or a lie, whereas predictions vary. Michael Pachter is an industry analyst that is notorious for being wrong. Beyond that, he always frequently provides commentary on industry happenings (such as calling gamers "whiny" with regard to the controversy over Mass Effect 3's endings). I think he even called Iwata "the late and not so great" last year (which is wholly unprofessional, regardless of your opinion of the man).
