Aren't scalpers just a natural extension of the supply chain?

I mean the traditional manufacturer->wholesaler->retailer link is now evolving to include the scalper at the end of it. They need to mark up the prices to earn a tidy profit from their work. People should be grateful they have the opportunity to buy from them. It's not different than going to a retailer over a wholesaler.

Yes. But people cry because they gotta play their vidya games at launch.

Depends, sometimes scalpers can make an artificial demand and that is wrong to do. (I/e I go to FL, buy all the water, and sell it 100 dollars per bottle because I am the only supply now)
Be a team player, guard those super jump rings. See a team member inking a wall to swim up on? ink with them. Ink your foes into ash. http://tinyurl.com/z7hbzrr

How's this different than any other business?

"Stop shipping real people!" They cry.
"No." I respond, packing one more person into a box and sealing it shut.

Depends on how they got their hands on the product in the first place. Pisses me off with stuff like concert tickets, where resellers have the opportunity to buy before the general public. I want to resell at ticket and round up to the nearest dollar from face value? I'm a dirty scalper that they go after. Another place gets to sell it at five times face value, and hey, that's cool, he's a business.
The ball is round, the game lasts 90 minutes. That's fact.
Everything else, is theory.

This is all they have in their lives. They've likely been PMing each other all day conjuring up this gimmick.

This is actually one of the first times I've ever seen TC triggered by something so good job guys. His gimmick about unemployment is dumb as f*** and I don't see why anyone treats him seriously

Scalping is known formally on economics as the black market and is only possible when the supplier is too incompetent to either increase quantity supplied or adjust the sale price.
DevsBro 1 day ago#21
Or when there's a price ceiling.
Scalpers are a natural result of a mismatch between supply and demand.

Supply and demand are curves. Their intersection is supposed to define price and quantity, and this happens naturally unless someone is being a dumbass. Like Nintendo, for example.

And how do you guys explain 5% of the market buying hundreds, or even thousands of Nintendo units then selling them for 500% above market value?
