You can't find them anywhere. I keep my old one around to play old games on it, but once it breaks I don't think it'll even be possible to repair it. I doubt you can even get replacement parts for it.

And old consoles look like s*** on HD sets. >:U Like hot garbage. You need the scanlines to make it look right....

I'm pretty sure someone is going to come out and start making CRT tv's soon enough since hipsters are falling in love with them again.

Just like someone came back to make new record players.

CRTs are bad in every possible way.
They are seizure inducing due to their s***ty fps
They explode easily
Don't open them if you care to avoid heart malfunction from lethal levels of electricity
They are highly toxic
They use a lot of electricity
They are very low quality and only lower in quality, degaussing and such amounts to some huge issues with maintenance and permanent monitor problems

I could go on but there is literally no reason to bring them back.

There's enough used CRT TVs floating around in good working condition that it wouldn't make sense to manufacture new ones.

Old games look fine on newer screens. I play snes games on it fairly often. Just make sure your aspect ratio is set right.

I don't believe you guys actually switched playing games from one to the other. When I dumped my old TV it was an enormous step up, even for the old games I was playing. Old games just look worse because back when they looked good they were at the top of graphics, not so anymore. I did a similar take on Metroid Prime. It looks surprisingly bad these days.

Generally you would get a stand to put the TV on. And in that stand you can store things like video games, consoles, etc.

You can find them second hand. I've got a small 24" TV that sits on my desk, and a 36" one in my bedroom for older video games. Both still work.

I could guarantee you that if you lost your grip on your Wii controller when playing Wii bowling, your expensive flatscreen would be busted AF, while your CRT wouldn't have a scratch.

Flatscreens aren't that fragile, but yeah CRTs were next to immortal except for magnets and unidentifiable issues that happened inside. The curved shape of the screen made it very sturdy, you could take a hammer to it and it wouldn't break. They went out in other ways though, color issues and overheating etc.

Like 95% of repair jobs for both flat screen and CRTs come down to just replacing a few capacitors. One isn't really harder to deal with than the other. Flat screens have more circuit boards, though, so in theory at least there are more potential points of failure.

Speaking of Wiis don't they also look extremely bad on anything that is HD like most TVs that aren't CRT. That's probably the only reason I'd want to get a CRT unless someone has found a way to fix that

I wasn't making an argument that one is easier to repair. But since you bring it up, CRTs clearly have more safety considerations if you are going to do so. Namely grounding.
