Thing comes out next month but you still can't freaking pre order one

I actually have a NES Classic only because someone discovered a Best Buy refresh and I got one in minutes

I agree. I don't even care anymore. After not being able to get an NES Classic and not being able to preorder a SNES Classic, I just done are anymore. Don't care about tyis, the inevitable N64 Classic. I'm just not going to stress out about Nintendo systems anymore

You won't be able to preorder. You'll just have to wait until day of sale.

I'm annoyed because I actually really wanted one, to genuinely use it.

They just wanna make sure the poor scalpers can make a living.

Pretty much this. If I happen to get really lucky and find one at Walmart, great. But I don't have nearly the motivation required to play into Ninty's bulls*** supply tactics anymore.

I don't understand why they do some of the things they do.

I get that for these classic consoles the idea is probably to get people excited about Nintendo so they buy a Switch. But I don't know why amiibo shortages are still going on. Or why they make super limited collectors editions of games (like BotW, for example) that people would actually want to buy.

Also, I wouldn't be too surprised in another year or two after the Switch hype is gone if they do another run of the NES/SNES classics.

That would be a lot more expensive. The SNES Classic is kind of neat collector's item and is reasonably priced for what you get. It's understandable why people are frustrated with Nitnendo's intentional supply shortages.

You don't need a SNES classic to play SNES games. Save yourself the frustration and quit playing into Nintendo's and scalpers' hands.

I actually got a pre-order and thought I was safe.

Till Walmart f***ing cancelled them all a week later because they went up by accident.

It was definitely Nintendo that likely pressured them to cancel the orders because Walmart is one of the few retailers out there that actually honors f*** ups or price mistakes and the like.

It truly buffaloes my mind. Chevy, Target, Home Depot, Hershey's, BIC pins, Huggies Diapers: every other company in the word wants as much people as possible to buy their products and would never intentionally understock. Only Nintendo. I would seriously just like to sit in on a Nintendo meeting to see what type of drugs these men are on

They make more money if you buy the games individually on virtual console, I assume.

Which begs the question why even make these classic editions at all?

I think the idea is that the Classic consoles are just to build hype. Nintendo actually wants the people who maybe haven't bought their products in a long time but got excited when they saw them to buy the Switch instead and not satisfy their itch with a $60-80 Classic console. Of course the problem with this is that you can't find the Switch either, and that doesn't seem like that's going to change until after this holiday season.

I'm probably just going to get a Raspberry Pi and make my own SNES Classic. Especially seeing as the official one won't have DKC2 and DKC3.

I can see the perspective of this argument, but for me, I'm not going to buy all of those games on the Switch. I may not buy any of them. Some of them I have on SNES, some of the games I have on SD like FFVI and Chrono Trigger, and others like Super Mario World I have on my old Wii, etc. But I want the SNES classic to have the convenience of them all being on one device if I do want to play them, and having the collector's item. Also, the NES classic was awesome because it's portable and I could easily take it to someone else's house, rather than unhooking a Wii U and Switch. If I wasn't able to get a SNES classic, I don't care enough about the games to buy them all on Switch. So no, Nintendo isn't making more money off of me if I don't get a Switch. I would imagine a lot of others are the same way.

They would just assume people don't want video games anymore and drop out of the market completely, instead of actually seeing why people are boycotting them and/or reading criticism (god forbid someone tell Nintendo they shouldn't do something) and changing their act accordingly.

Yeah or maybe, just maybe, it's because they've made amazing games for over 3 decades? No it has to be because they're cheap.
