Dave Meltzer & Bryan Alvarez June 7, 2026 (Unfiltered)
Bryan Alvarez: Alright, we got something new. Someone leaked audio from that Anne Hathaway shoot with Melissa McCarthy — the one from the toilet picture we were just talking about. It’s about 90 seconds long. You want to listen to it?
Dave Meltzer: Yeah, play it.
(Bryan plays the leaked audio)
Leaked Audio – Backstage after the shoot (March 2026)
Anne Hathaway (sounding shaken and upset): “I didn’t… I didn’t know it was going to be like that. They said it was going to be funny. Like a bit. They didn’t say they were going to put my fucking face in a toilet and cover me in shit. I can still taste it. I can still fucking smell it.”
Unidentified Male Voice (calm, trying to de-escalate): “Anne, it’s just content. It’s what they do here. You signed the waiver—”
Anne Hathaway (voice cracking, getting louder): “I signed a waiver for a comedy bit, not to be treated like a fucking toilet! Melissa was laughing the whole time like it was the funniest thing in the world. I was gagging. I threw up in my mouth twice. And they just kept rolling. Who the fuck does that?”
Melissa McCarthy (in the background, laughing): “Oh come on, it was funny! You should’ve seen your face when they flushed it the second time—”
Anne Hathaway (snapping): “Shut the fuck up, Melissa! This isn’t funny! This is fucking disgusting. I’m done. I’m leaving. Tell them I’m done.”
(Sound of footsteps and a door slamming)
Unidentified Male Voice: “…Well. That could’ve gone better.”
Melissa McCarthy (still laughing): “She’ll be fine. They always freak out the first time.”
(Audio ends)
Bryan Alvarez: Jesus Christ. She sounds genuinely upset. Like, not kayfabe upset. Actually shaken.
Dave Meltzer: Yeah… that didn’t sound like someone playing a character. That sounded like someone who felt completely blindsided and humiliated. You can hear it in her voice — she’s on the verge of tears at points.
Bryan: And Melissa just laughing in the background like it’s nothing? That’s fucked up. She really doesn’t give a shit, does she?
Dave: Not even a little. From everything we’ve heard, Melissa has fully embraced this world. She’s not pretending it’s wrestling or comedy anymore. She’s just in it for the chaos and the extreme stuff. The fact that she was laughing while Anne was clearly having a breakdown says a lot.
Bryan: And the guy trying to calm Anne down by saying “it’s just content” and “you signed the waiver”… that’s the part that really shows what this company is. They don’t care how the person feels afterward. As long as they got the footage, they’re good.
Dave: This is why I keep saying most people who go deep with CBWL don’t come out the other side okay. Even the ones who think they’re just doing “edgy comedy” or “one wild appearance” usually end up regretting it. Anne sounds like she was completely unprepared for how far they were actually willing to go.
Bryan: And now this audio is out. How do you think this affects them going forward?
Dave: It’s not going to help. Anne’s already been very quiet since this shoot. If this audio spreads, it’s going to make other mainstream people even more hesitant to work with them. And it reinforces what we’ve been saying — once you cross that line with CBWL, there’s usually no coming back from it cleanly.
Bryan: Yeah. This isn’t wrestling. This is just them producing extreme fetish content and hoping big names will keep walking into it.
Dave: And some of them still do. That’s the crazy part.
Bryan Alvarez: This one’s even worse than the last. Same setup — Anne Hathaway’s face in the toilet, covered in shit. But now Melissa McCarthy is standing over her in a dirty diaper, smiling and giving a double thumbs-up like she just won the lottery. Someone’s also pointing at Anne like she’s an exhibit.
(Bryan shares the image)
Dave Meltzer: Yeah, this is from the same shoot as the last one. This was actually taken right after they finished filming the main spot. From what I was told, they kept the cameras rolling for some “behind-the-scenes” content and candid shots, and this was one of them.
Melissa was apparently in a really good mood that day. She was hamming it up for the crew, doing the thumbs-up and posing while Anne was still in the toilet. According to multiple people who were there, Anne was not happy about it. She kept asking them to let her out, but they wanted a few more photos first.
Bryan: She was still in the toilet while they were taking pictures?
Dave: Yeah. They had her stay in there for a while after the main shoot so they could get different angles and “candid” shots. Melissa was loving it. She was laughing, making jokes, and posing like she’d just won a title. Anne, on the other hand, looked miserable. One of the crew members said she had tears in her eyes at one point but was trying to hold it together.
Bryan: How did the crew react to this?
Dave: Mixed. Some of them thought it was hilarious and were fully on board with how far Melissa was taking it. Others were uncomfortable, especially once they saw how upset Anne was getting. From what I heard, there was some quiet pushback from a couple of the production people, but Melissa and the higher-ups wanted to keep going.
Bryan: And Anne just… stayed in the toilet while this was happening?
Dave: She did. I think at that point she was kind of in shock. A lot of people who’ve done these kinds of shoots with CBWL say the same thing — once it starts, it’s hard to stop it, even if you want to. The pressure, the cameras, the people around you all acting like it’s normal… it messes with your head.
Bryan: This is fucking disgusting. And the fact that they were taking photos like it was a fun little moment while she was clearly miserable… that says everything about how this company operates.
Dave: Yeah. This isn’t wrestling. This is just them producing extreme humiliation content and treating the people involved like props once the cameras are rolling. The fact that Anne was still in the toilet while Melissa was posing and smiling says a lot about the power dynamic in that room.
Bryan: And now these photos are leaking. How do you think this affects Anne going forward?
Dave: Not well. She’s already been very quiet since this whole thing happened. If more of this stuff keeps coming out, it’s only going to make her want to distance herself even more. And it’s probably going to make other mainstream celebrities think twice before ever getting involved with CBWL.
Bryan: Yeah. This company doesn’t care about the people they use. They just care about getting the shot.
Dave: That’s been the reality for a long time. Some people just don’t realize how far they’re willing to go until it’s already too late.
